A correctly cured ceramic coating is designed to withstand far more extreme conditions than any real weather in the Iberian Peninsula will ever impose, including intense UV radiation, sub-zero temperatures, and exposure to salt and acid rain. The instructions for any professional coating do not distinguish between coastal and inland application. There is only one set of instructions, with a curing time of 24 hours during which the vehicle should not be exposed to water, regardless of where it is parked.

The idea that different climates degrade the coating differently is a myth. The reality is that a well-cured coating does not lose chemical resistance by being near the sea or in a higher-altitude city, such as Madrid at over 600 meters. What changes between coastal areas, like the Algarve or Mallorca, and inland areas is the product's behavior during application and the amount of maintenance the vehicle will need afterward.

The more humid the environment, the faster the coating reaches the point where it needs to be leveled and removed with a microfiber, which requires working in smaller sections in coastal areas. In drier, inland climates, the working time is slightly longer, but requires extra attention to direct sunlight during application, especially on dark panels.

A car parked outdoors in a coastal area accumulates a practically invisible layer of salt that does not chemically damage a well-cured coating, but makes regular maintenance essential. A pre-wash with higher pH foam, such as Nasiol Cleanion Pro, is practically indispensable before any direct contact with the paint, applying the foam, allowing it to act without touching, and rinsing. Washing by hand directly over accumulated salt creates micro-scratches, with or without a coating applied. In areas of higher humidity and high alkalinity, standing water on the paint can still form stains even with the coating applied.

In inland and higher-altitude cities, drier air reduces the risk of water spots, but dust and debris still pose the same risk of micro-scratches during a wash without proper technique. The rule remains valid in any climate: never wash a dirty car by direct contact without a pre-wash that removes loose dirt first, ideally with the two-bucket method.

A factor with more visible impact than regional climate is the vehicle's color. A black or dark car reaches much higher surface temperatures in the sun than a white car in the same location. This does not mean that the coating suffers more chemically, but that any defect or contamination becomes much more visible on a dark surface.

A ceramic coating is not armor. It protects against light scratches, marking from improperly used cloths, UV rays, and prevents dirt, mud, bird droppings, and dust from sticking to the paint as easily, making maintenance simpler without eliminating the need for regular washes with correct technique.

Coastal elements do, in fact, have a faster degrading effect on the final appearance of the coating, but only when proper maintenance is not performed. A well-maintained coating continues to protect and impress, from the Algarve to Madrid. The International Detailing Association emphasizes that the longevity of any advanced protection depends primarily on correct application and continuous maintenance, not the vehicle's geographic location.
